That is, here I am again as I am on watch, 3 to 6 am. Lovely morning actually as the sky is brightening with lots of scattered cloud about. There is a very light wind from the south west as it is finally going to fill in. We are expecting 25 knots later in the day but it should be from the SW and therefore we will finally have some decent wind from a favourable direction. We are still running under engine which we have been since 1300 yesterday except for a brief interlude of sailing in the early evening when the wind blew quite unexpectedly giving us a pleasent beam reach.

With the wind now having south in it it feels somewhat warmer, or less cold. On night watches everyone has been cold these last few days. It has been a dramatic drop in temperature from the sunny days and warm seas of Puerto Rico. It may be we have not aclimatised to temperate weather, or we are just reluctant to bring out all our winter clothes. At 41 degrees north you tend to think it should be warm.

I seem to only be writing a blog during the night watches. Other times of day are too busy, what with all the eating and sleeping which is how the days seem to be filled. The wind is picking up so I'd better get those sails out then we can have some peace and quiet.
