Arrived safely Newport RI and tied up at Casey's Marina. The customs officers have just completed their inspection. What a trip! For the last twelve hours it was freezing cold and we added lots of extra layers of clothing. The entrance to Rhode Island Sound was well marked with buoys that either whistle or have a clanging bell so that you can find them in the fog. Something we certainly never saw before in the Med!

The heavy rain at least washed all the excess salt off the decks and fittings.  We're going to check the adjacent docks to see if we can find some of our cruising friends, then it's going to be a large lunch with even larger scotch and soda followed by a l-o-n-g sleep.
