Making good but frustrating progress, what with motoring all the time. The
winds have been light all day, and the ocean is almost like a millpond, with but
a slight swell from the northwest. We have all settled into the rhythm of life
on board, and everyone is getting a good rest when off watch. The dolphins last
night were the highlight of our trip so far. They stayed with us for well over
an hour, and played and surfed in front of our bow and in our wake, almost as if
showing us landlubbers what they are capable off. Their phosphorescent trails
contrasting magically with the full moon.
Today we made some fresh bread to while away the time as well as filling
the boat with a wonderful aroma. Apart from that we are spending our time
sunbathing, resting, reading, and Mike and Roger have been practising with their
sextants. We also had a dip in the ocean, with 3200 metres of water below us.
All’s well.
