This is our second blog entry, from Sutton Harbour Marina in Plymouth. The first few days on the boat has been mainly preparations, even though we did get a visit from our godparents. But before they arrived we had some work to do:

Our car, that had once been overloaded with food, clothes, gadgets and other necessities, was sold on the day of arrival! Then we had to pack out our bags and make the boat as homely as possible. However, shopping trips to various chandlers helped equip the boat for our Atlantic Crossing.

A second shopping trip was made with the help of our godmother (who was the only one who had a car!). During the shopping trip we bought food to take with us, including energy drinks for the emergency grab bag and lot of fresh fruit. We had a quite some packing out to do and soon the cupboards were stuffed!

However, before buying a month's worth of food, our godparents arrived to stay for the night. Dollie and Hugo Potgieter came from Wales to say their final goodbyes. After an enjoyable afternoon we had a barbeque. We barbequed duck and boerewors on Dad's new miniature barbeque, that was a great success. They left us the following afternoon.
We hope to set out off for France on Saturday but, where we go, is dependent on the weather! Fingers crossed for a wind with a bit of North in it and lots of sunshine!
