All is going well. I am not sure if the position update on this blog works because I can not see it. However I am now about 65 miles SW of the Scillies. I had a great start and was doing 7 knots past the Lizard. It did not last though and I motored for several hours through the night, justified by a shipping lane. In fact there were v few ships but as always quite a number of fishing boats and I altered course for a couple. Enough to justify my sleep tactic: many people talk of sleeping for a max of 20 mins as the way to avoid feeling awful when you get up and I read somewhere that NASA studies showed 26 mins. So I set the timer to wake me every 23 mins!

This morning I have showered (what luxury at sea!) and after breakfast set the new reaching sail for a while before the wind headed me. Now it is calm again- a grey morning and it was drizzle for a while. As I write this I have furled the headsail and am just drifting really. I have a mug of real coffee and I will finish it before I decide what to do about sails.

The paper was not delivered this morning so I will have to go out to get it later......
