Fridays journey was all under engine. Flat, oily calm all the way across towards Huelva at the mouth of the Rio Tinto. We knew it was coming, so elected to break the journey and head for Mazagon, and anchor off, before repeating the process and getting up to the mouth of the river Guadiana on Saturday.

We anchored behind the wall to the west of the main channel out of Huelva, had a bite to eat and were watching a film when the Guardia Civil arrived to investigate us, well after 2100. Perfectly civil, they seemed curious that we stayed out rather than entering the marina, but all was well. I guess the Moroccan coast, though quite some distance away, still gives the Spanish security services a great deal to think about.
