St Martin to Azores...day 2... 22 25.238N 61 37.410W

Persephone... Cruiser/Racer
Nigel & Karen Goodhew...
Tue 6 Jun 2017 12:21
We are going to report here at 1200 and 0000 UT from here on.

The progress since our last report has been good, though the wind has decreased and clocked forward a few degrees, the sea state has declined correspondingly, so we are able to maintain a speed in excess of 6 knots for most of the time.

Yesterday, we did a few sail changes, and at one point, had Persephone sailing under her full upwind sail plan, and I genuinely cannot remember when we last did that!  Somewhere in Galicia, last summer, I guess.

Karen cooked chicken breasts in a blue cheese sauce, boiled potatoes and green beans for supper last night...the cordon bleu agenda is being maintained at an angle of 20 degrees as we make our way NNE, to find the first waypoint.

Win 2 Win are in touch regularly. There's a deep low approaching the Azores later in the week and they are considering diverting to Madeira.

Sun shines on us here. We have about 12 knots of wind from 110.

It's comfortable with the No 2 so we will keep it up for the time being. I noticed a small  tear in the leech of the No 1 yesterday, so will spend time today repairing it as we might need it in a day or two.

All well and no dreaded mal de mer.
