We had a days additional stay in Bermuda on 30th April. Having planned and then steeled ourselves for the longest leg of our trip....the next leg to the Azores, the long range weather forecast spooked us and we decided to delay and see if and how a mid Atlantic depreession was going to play out.

Two things;
1. The long range forecasts are generally unreliable, so why were we worried and;

2. You don't generallly deliberately set out into an oncoming storm...

These things have to be balanced and together with frans and Janny...a lovely Dutch couple planning to leave as well in their 37 foot aluminium boat, Shishco, we decided to err on the side of caution.

The result was a delightful additional chance to see the Royal Naval Dockyard on the western end of Bermuda. Last time we went we were seriously rained on, so the second go was welcomed...

We also met Charlie...the delivery skipper taking a large Hanse back to Gibraltar...the boat is Calidh and is delayed because of broken rigging.  Nice guy with more than a tale or two to tell....

As I write, the forecast has cheered up and we are off...Bermuda is slipping out of sight to the west and we are chugging along in light winds and fairly smooth seas...

Position as at 1630 UT on 1.5.13 is;

32 23.665N  64 28.210W

All well
