So, we haven’t left yet… Colin went down with a ‘bug’ (mixture of not-nice gastric & man-flu thing) and is not quite right yet.

Plus, now we have a deepening low pressure system to the north of us (see picture) which will be giving us south-westerly winds for 24-48 hours – which you’ve guessed it, is exactly the direction we want to be going in to get to Dakar! C’est la vie.

Never mind, it’ll be short lived and once Colin is fighting fit again we hope to get off in the next few days. Of course the one advantage to being here a little longer? We’ll just have to go back to that nice Indian Zaffran restaurant in Playa del Carmen old town – oh yes, and of course we can work on that Scottish shark-survey data (Suzanne), and review the PNG biodiversity offset documents (David/Giovanni) – back to the grindstone, some silver lining!
