4 Sept 2013 SW3/4 and a cheeky 7 close to the Black Isle

Hurray - the anchor did come up and we set off at 0530 due east to round the Tarbat Ness peninsula 3 miles from Portmahomack. We had forgotten what a sunrise looked like after so long with overcast and heavy skys further north. Great sailing as we tacked up the Moray Firth towards Inverness. Plenty of interest along the coastline with views into Cromarty Firth and close ups of tankers at anchor awaiting loading/unloading at the Nigg terminal. Wildlife spectacular with 2 dolphins, porpoises and……BASKING SHARK. A lovely day and we got straight into the canal, paperwork completed and secured in the marina by 1530. Need an early night and then clean up and prepare the cabins for our visitors tomorrow. As Lucy doesn't like public transport Pete is driving her to Inverness from North Wales.
