Thursday 15th June 2017. 29nm. 1.2 Engine hours. Partial Cloud. Wind: Westerly F3. Air Temp: 14-17°C. Water Temp: 15°C. Passage 5.5 hours.

A restless night as the fresh wind created some wave action in the anchorage. Still feeling grogy after the long passage yesterday the skipper decided on a quick swim, water temperature 15C... it was a very short swim. A lovely warming shower on deck in the morning sun soon perked him up.

A lovely 25nm sail up the Swedish west coast which is, although less dramatic, remarkably similar to the Swedish east coast archipelago.

Lysekil is a medium sized town with an area of historic wooden houses at the old harbour. We rafted on to a Swiss Hallberg-Rassy 46 outside the harbour as there were no spaces alongside and the boxes were (as usual) too small. After our walk around we moved on to the town’s northern marina which was much quieter and facing the sunset with a stunning view out over many small islands.
