30 July 2013 SSW 2 and later SW 2 building to 4, fair with good visibility.

When we left Gairloch this morning we were headed for Loch Inver or Kinlochbervie. As the wind was favourable we decided to carry on and head for the Orkneys. We reached Cape Wrath at 2130 just as the sun was setting. We were 2 hours ahead of slack water (the safest time to round close inshore) but with light winds and relatively calm seas there was very little turbulence to cause us any problem. Lots of birds and porpoises enjoying the currents or more likely the fish. We marked the occasion with photos of course. Frans took a picture of Cape Wrath with a small Sarah and Sarah took a picture of Frans with a small Cape Wrath.
