Title: The end of our adventure......safe arrival

Lat 37:05.1N Long 08:41.5W
So we finally come to an end of our great adventure. Tied up on the dockside
at Lagos on Saturday May 17th at 08:30 after watching sunrise as we motored
the last few miles along the Algarve coast. I felt tired and a twinge of
sadness that the life we have known for the past two years is over but
relief that it all ended well. Sussanne has been an absolute star, she
sailed every inch of the way with me and put up with some pretty
uncomfortable and scary times. So many new friends, places, and experiences.
Thank you to all those who emailed from time to time. It was always lovely
to turn on the computer and hear from you. And all those of you whom we have
never met, but picked up our blog, wanting to say hello. If you would like
to keep in touch please use Sussanne's hotmail account. We would LOVE to
hear from you. For those who don't know it, here it is. I'm sure you will be
able to work it out..... sussannelock 'at sign' hotmail dot co dot uk......
We will be putting the boat on dry land in a couple of days, until next
spring, and hope to be back in England by the weekend

Sussanne here:
What a journey. One that I have shared with the person I love dearly.
Exhilarating, enriching, informative, at times scary but most of all fun.
We have visited places I never thought we would, met some wonderful people
and made some great friends. Andrew is an amazing husband, a fantastic
captain and a patient teacher. He has taught me all I know about sailing. I
knew nothing about cruising chutes, poling out and going goose wing, back
stays, forestays and baby stays. I could go on but I won't, I think you get
the picture. The other amazing fact is that I have learnt to live without my
hair dryer....the only thing that it was used for, over the past 18 months,
was to defrost the freezer.
Oliver joining us for the last few months has been a special bonus. We have
enjoyed his sense of humour, physical strength and cooking abilities. I
think that for him, it will also have been a journey of a life time.
ADIOS and Please keep in touch
We live in the Cotswolds, 100 miles west of London....All visitors welcome.
