It's been an emotional time, recovering from our last passage and
celebrating together with all the friends we have made. Eight days on and we
are having to think about preparing for the next passage, sailing back over
the North Atlantic as far as Portugal, where we plan to leave the boat for a
few months. Our course is north towards Bermuda and then east to the Azores,
where we will stop for a few days and then on to Portugal. It's a long
passage, 3300 miles and could be our first cold weather sailing for two
years. Went to the supermarket yesterday and Sussanne was almost in a frenzy
throwing food into the basket, mentally trying to keep track of how much we
could keep fresh for the long trip.
Two new sails are aboard and we have checked and repaired the boat but there
is still a slight apprehension in the air
