ACTIVITIES:
Hello again. We have been very busy the last few hours. We were doing great speed in the right direction for many hours yesterday. After this fantastic run our spirits were high and the boat moving fast. Unfortunately, as with all things, the weather changed and we were pulled into a frontal system moving north. The wind increased to over 26 knots and the sea became very confused. We decided to heave too until the front passed, instead of speeding of to the north, which is not exactly where we wanted to go. We sat drifting for 6 hours until the wind started to come from the south again and we could make progress in the right direction.
We did not do a blog as there was no signal for the satellite phone while we were in the storm. The rain came pouring down and the wind picked up. There was a tremendous amount of wave slam as the waves picked up to about 9 feet and the swell came in from the other direction at 4 feet.
We are now moving very slowly in the right direction, but the waves and swell are still against us, but Julians dad managed to get a weather forecast to us and we should be happier in a few days when the winds will change in our favour. We have covered more than 30% of the distance.
