Well, it is now a little under two hours to go before the start of the race
and we haven't written a blog all week!! Sorry about that folks, but we've
been busy sailing, drinking, sinking and having plenty of fun (not
necessaarily in that order though!) There is definitely an air of excitement
running through the marina as i type this. Fog horns are being let of at
intervals, there are at least two bands playing (in true spanish style
playing different tunes and creating a cacophony of noise).

We are just finishing our last minute preparations before we head off. All
unecessary items are being jetisoned over the side (we are keeping all the
crew), we've had our final briefing from Ric which basically told us to slow
down as this is a long distance race and we want to make sure that we finish
it with boat and crew intact!

I think we should have a quick run through of what's been going on over the
past week before we head off. We've had a quite a few days sailing getting
ourselves familair with the boat and all the jobs on board and practising in
watches. Highlights have got to include three of us being sick on the first
day (Ric was very pleased as he beat Adam on EH01 with only two people being
sick). We've seen plenty of wildlife too over the week. There have been
some nocturnal sightings (censored), but on the water we have seen a big pod
of dolphins and some pilot whales (sharks according to George). There was an
incident with a shopping trolley in the royal yacht club that most of us
won't forget in a hurry.

All in all it has been a cracking week. We've got on very well as a group
and are all very excited at the prospect of starting very soon!!

With love from all the crew of P42
