We actually had a sail yesterday, we left Bisceglie in light airs which freshened as the day wore on and we sailed most of the way with a following wind, reaching 8 knots under genoa alone, as we reached Vieste Mr Sod paid us another call and the wind increased abruptly to 35 knots!! The roller reefing system jammed and all hell broke loose!! As usual, Carol was great and stayed calmly on the helm while I ran around like a whirling dervish and managed to get the reefing line unjammed and we eventually got the genoa under control with the aid of the winch, no damage thank God. We tried the various anchorages which were all hopeless in this wind, so we ended up in the marina....again! Nice lady from Canada manages this marina, and very well, she kindly reduced the fees from a horrendous 85 euros a night to a still painful 50. Our reqard was a quiet night, blissful Sunday spent washing P3 and a few hours on the excellent wi fi at a reasonable 2.5 euros an hour. Off to Croatia tomorrow, honestly!!!! Oh patient reader  (for there is probably only one of you!) We will get there. We are having some extremely trying winds.
