The following morning was lovely and crisp and cloud free so we got these great shots of Mt Taranaki.  Does it look familiar to you?  Well I can you that we didn’t see Tom Cruise.  Any closer?  It was used as a substitute for Mt Fuji in the Samurai movie.

You can see all those sculptured valleys in this shot.  The mound to the left is Fanthams Peak (1966m) and right is Mt Taranaki.
