Distance to go to just south of the island is 602 miles.

24 hour sailing report

The wind speed has stayed at around 12 to 14 knots all night, but the wind direction has moved forward so it is now on the beam and continues to move forward. This is a very good wind direction to get a good speed from the boat.

This has made the sailing a bit faster than yesterday, as can be seen in the noon to noon distance.

We sailed the night with the genoa and main fully out, the boat speed was 6 to 8.5knots.

No rain over the last 24 hours. However we have had more rain squalls pass to the North of us yet again.

Not much wild life day today, just flying fish and a few sea birds.

We are now sailing in company with three other boats, Moin a German boat about 40 feet long, and Marite 111 also 40 feet and Karacool the 53 foot CAT who is also one of our group boats.

We all left within about an hour of each other. Karacool is now 195 miles ahead of us in Oyster Moon. Moin is about 90 miles behind with Marita 111 about 71 miles behind us.

As I write this blog we are making fresh drinking water from the sea water with our water maker. This is a bit of a slow process as we make about 60 litres per hour and we need to make about 250 litres to re fill our tanks. So the generator will be running for the next few hours to charge the batteries which run the 12 volt water maker electric water pumps.
