The Golfo di Orosei is a large bay with high cliffs and no access to any of the beaches from the land, there are no roads so the only way to get there is by boat. The beaches are stunning, not big but very unspoilt and wildly beautiful.
We had trouble picking which one to stop at, but in the end we picked Cala di Luna and decided to have a barbeque on the beach. This was fantastic, as by 6PM all the tripper boats had gone home and we almost had the entire beach to ourselves. There were massive caves to explore and huge surf crashing onto the pebble beach.
We couldn’t stay the night because the boat was rolling wildly in the swell, but we had a lovely time and felt honoured to have it all to ourselves. Beach barbies don’t get much better.

Afterwards we motored to a harbour at Cala Gonone to get out of the swell, the harbour was full but we cheekily rafted up next to a catamaran on the fuel dock and got away with it.
