The anchor is now firmly dug in (I hope) & we're slowly winding down. I think we were more tired than we realised & perhaps there was a sense of anticlimax after the ARC ended & everyone departed. It's now taking a little time for us to get into gear. However Bequia is lovely, still unspoilt despite being busy. We've had a number of heavy showers & some blustery squalls which can be a bit wearing especially at night (I'm constantly expecting the laundry, towels, etc to land up several miles downwind!). We joined up with some Norwegians from the ARC on Christmas Eve which was very alcoholic & barbecued lobster on the beach on Christmas Day but it's not the same as Christmas at home with the family. Currently we're expecting to be on our own for New Year's Eve but I'm sure something will evolve on the day. So it just remains for us to wish everyone a very happy New Year & thank you all for all your support & kindness since we left - I have just re read the email we received on the crossing. What a great bunch of friends you are.

With love from,

Peter & Christene

PS - the mailasail email address has a size filter on it & email containing attachments & pictures is automatically blocked to limit our bills when downloading over the sat phone. We still pick up mail to our gmail addresses when we have access to wifi which is the best way to send longer messages
