OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY

When the wind died down the fog set in but that's Maine.
After a short delay we groped our way between the lobster pots & headed South via Stage Island near Cape Porpoise & then the Isles of Shoals 10 nm offshore from Portsmouth NH. We would have got ashore there but for a viscous thunderstorm with lightning bouncing off the water all around. I was philosophical but Christene was scared. Worse still in the opening 40kt gusts our inflatable 'dumbo' took off & 'propellored' round it's painter eventually landing upside down with the outboard in the water (you never think to take photos in theses situations but I wish I had done). Shortly after it took off again & landed the right way up but I had to strip down the motor to get it going again. With one days northerly wind left we had an excellent 70nm sail down into the Cape Cod Canal. We will be at anchor here at Onset over the weekend, again waiting for weather, but it has got a lot warmer even though we've only sailed 200nm South.

With love to all, Peter & Christene
