Sometimes the blog gets delayed because we're having such a good time & sometimes because because there's nothing to say! Now a new excuse - without reporting from the Chesapeake & Delaware Canal you will not know that we reluctantly exited the North end of Chesapeake Bay via a 15nm ship canal & turned south into the Delaware River. The river estuary is huge, 4 nm wide where we joined it, opening up to 20nm with a strong tide which feeds thro' into Chesapeake. It was over 50nm SE to Cape May at the river mouth with nowhere to stop but after another long day's motoring including a Customs & Border Patrol boarding we arrived in Cape May, returning to the Atlantic Ocean after a month of motoring in inland waters.
The trip log has now passed 10,000nm & we've visited 27 countries, 8 US States.
Goodbye Delaware & hello to New Jersey.

With love from Peter & Christene
