We left Grenada very impressed with the beauty of the island & it's friendly people, not to mention the numerous inlets to explore on the South coast. We beat North East via Tyrell Bay on Carriacou, where we heard some magnificent African drumming in a bar by the beach after dinner. The next day it was too windy to stop & snorkel on Sandy Island, a narrow strip of sand & reef just large enough to support some scrub & a solitary tree, so we tacked on up to Clifton, the delightful unspoilt village on Union Island. The anchorage is formed by a reef to the windward of the bay so the trade wind whistles through, & one by one the crew got up in the night to check we had not dragged. An enterprising local has built a bar on the reef called "Happy Island" but needless to say Christene got drenched on the dinghy ride out there.

Love to all,

Peter & Christene
