2130hrs and we found ourselves trapped by a lobster pot heavy duty nylon rope wrapped around the rudder. The rudder was immobilised, we were sailing down wind with no means of turning the boat and dropping the main. We managed to furl the Yankee. Only one thing for it, over the side to cut us free. It all worked but another half an hour and would have been in serious trouble as we were being inexorably pushed down onto Piedra Negra. In calm conditions it would have been a challenge, with winds of 35knots and mountainous seas it was totally horrendous. We survive to tell the tale!
