Hi Everyone,

Hope all is well, we have been very busy since we arrived here in Nuku
Hiva,
getting gass, fuel, shopping & customs, life here starts at 5am and closed
by 10/11am because of the heat.then late in the afternoon.
Such a shame we can't swim (as it's so hot) as there are sharks in the
water, bit a teacher yesterday who was in the water with a load of
children, water is all green and murky so you wouldn't see them coming up.
Alan/Dad saw one round the the boat this morning chasing some fish, just
found out to-day that the locals go to the harbour every morning at 5am to
feed them.
So defiantly no swimming for us here.
We are going out to tea to-night not sure exactly what we are having the
man said chow mein of pigs leg on the BBQ if he can get a big enough fire
at the moment it looks like his hut has nearly burnt down from here on the
boat, so maybe we are having the pigs leg. (let you know)
Going to the market at 5am tomorrow later the customs to check out and if
our gas has arrived we will leave for the Taumoto islands on Sunday, which
will take about 4/5 days it's only 500miles but there is not much wind so
it will take longer than normal.
Met a girl from Tahiti today and she said the Taumoto islands are all sand
and coconut palms with nice blue sky clear blue sea and best of all no
sharks! What we have been waiting for since we came through the Panama
Canal, the sea so far has been murky green or jet green and you can't see
through it, so I can't wait as haven't been in the water for ages.
Happy Easter! we watched a procession to-day, the people walked up the
hill and then came down again with a big cross, then every now and again
would stop and plant a small cross, and then made way to the church. it
was too hot to follow we just watched. So hope you all have nice day on
Sunday.
Expect we will be at sea. We have managed to buy a leg of lamb so we
have that to look forward too (cost £20 so hope its good)
Bye for now, Lots of love
Mum & Dad -Margaret & Alan xxxx
