So here we are in the marina at Las Palmas, almost ready to leave.  I am joined by Brian (left below) and Phil (middle) who have now had a few days to settle in on the boat and even to see a few of the sights of Las Palmas. We were hoping to be off a few days ago but have had to settle for tomorrow (Wednesday) as a departure date.  The main reason was a four day holiday in Spain that meant that we could not get fresh food delivered to the boat until today. Also the winds have been ultra light and if we had left earlier the sailing would have been very slow.

If all goes according to plan we will leave Las Palmas tomorrow and head south towards Cabo Verde.  I’ve been here for almost a year now, on and off, and it’s sort of become home, so in some ways I’ll be sorry to leave.  It’s a great city, but it’s time to move on.
