The rally had only allowed a limited amount of time in Faial and on Sunday 4th June it was time to sail on to the the island of Terceira. In Horta we had been rafted up outside 4 other boats on the main quay, and being the outside boat we were duty bound to leave early so that the boats inside of us could also make an early start.

We slipped at about 6:30 am, raised sails and set off in the direction of Terceira. Our route took us through the channel north of Pica and south of São Jorge island. It was a rather misty day with relatively poor visibility and not much wind, so we made fair use of the engine on the way there.

We arrived in the port of Angra do Heroismo at around 17:53 after sailing about 70 miles. There was a marina in the port and after initially docking to a visitors pontoon and we were directed to a finger berth. It was a bit of a tight fit but we managed it without mishap. Although reasonably well protected there was still an ocean surge running through the pontoons.
