The marina at Samana, called Puerto Bahia, was at the different end of the luxury spectrum from Luperon.  This was an upmarket, five star resort with a marina complex added on.  There were a couple of restaurants, a pool, games room and extensive landscaped grounds. It was all very luxurious, and not at all expensive. The setting looking south over Samana Bay with large mountains in the distance was quite breathtaking.  Having stayed at Blue Haven in Providenciales and here at Puerto Bahia, all within the last few weeks we may find ourselves becoming accustomed to this level of luxury.

 

The three musketeers (Discovery, Stargazer and Casa Blanca) each arrived soon after us and moored very close to us in the marina.

 

 

                   

 

 

After a day or so’s rest we were driven into the local town in a large upmarket SUV, all provided without charge by the resort, although we did have to find the local bus to bring us back at the end of the day.  Here are a few pictures of the town:
