By Chris Haworth aided by the crew!

The introduction to yesterdays blog got me thinking – set me on a train to nowhere...like Rudi  (supertramp –crime of the century) below the is the result – best read in tune!

[Context: For readers who do not know the crew well, Francis (the Skipper) & Jane both lost their Wife/husband respectively in recent years and have ‘found’ each other to the great joy of everybody – All four of us used to race Merlin Rocket sailing dinghy’s against each other and are close friends].

I came up on deck yesterday evening Graham was at the Helm and asked ‘how you doing?’ he replied:

G: It’s been a hard days night.

C: Are you lonesome to night?

G: All I need is the air that I breath and to love you.

C: I’m not in love it’s just a silly phase I’m going through.

G: It’s a little bit funny this feeling inside, I’m not one of those who can easily hide.

C: My bonnie lies over the Ocean.

G: Your love is King.

C: You ain’t nothing but a hound dog.

G: Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though there  here to stay...  Here comes my 19th nervous breakdown

C: Life is a minestrone wrapped up in parmesan cheese

G: I’ll show you a sunset if you stay with me till dawn

C: Sail on down the line, bout a half a mile or so......Or I’ll run run run away.

G: Your such a Karma, Karma, Karma, Chameleon.

C: I don’t really want to know where you going to.

G: I could be a driver of an articulated Lorry, I could be poet (!!), I would not need to worry, what a waste, what a waste.

Graham listen - is that Jane and Fra I can here in their bunk?

F: The first time ever I saw your face.

J: When your weary feeling down, when tears are in your eyes I will dry them all..like a bridge over troubled water I will lay me down!

F: Loving you is easy cos your beautiful, every day of my life is filled....

J: Great Balls of fire....I can’t get no satisfaction.

F: I needed a friend and the way I feel now I guess I’ll be with you till the end, I guess I’m on the way, mighty glad you stayed.

J: When were together the mornings I cherish..

F: Your once twice three times a lady...

J: Smooth operator

Graham, there joining us ..act casual change the subject:

C: My daddy left home when I was three, he didn’t leave a lot for my ma and me, just an old guitar and an empty bottle of booze.

G: My old mans a dustman he wears a dustman’s hat..

F: My Old Man wore three piece whistles, he was never home for long

J: It’s a family affair ......and It’s raining men ..alleluia ....your too sexy for your shirt!

C&G: She loves you... yeah yeah yeah

F: Stop right now (thank you very much I need somebody with a human touch...)

C: Imagine (all the people living life in peace)

G: I believe in miracles (you sexy thing)

J: We are sailing (across the ocean...)

F: let it be

Progress – much of the same still heading SW trying to escape impending zero winds ‘hole’ closing in from  North and east. Last night was cloudy so stars not in full glory, a few rain squalls about but we didn’t get wet – on double watch to cope with spini in squalls ....A good 24 hrs, sailing approx 230 degrees, Spinnaker up all the way, averaging about 6.5 kts - 150mile run – next 24/36 hrs looks testing – main competition in North heading straight into headwinds and the edge of another gale ... they will get rich in 48 hrs time and it will be interesting to see which strategy pays ....but we don’t think we could have risked our sails again either way.

Dinner was minced Beef, with leeks carrots and potatoes washed down with a little Red, followed by cheese and biscuits (Danish Blue & Brie) washed down with a little more Red!

Graham and I look like we are struggling to make our flight on Saturday so arrangements in hand to rearrange for later date.....

Graham has moved on from poetry and is now writing Christmas Carols ...whilst Jane has composed a blog!...watch this space!

Finally: Take the time to make some sense of what you want to say, and cast your words away upon the waves, sail them home with acquiesce and ship of hope today, as they land upon the shore tell them not to fear no more...sing it loud and sing it proud today!..Dance if you want to dance......we are!

From the rocking and rolling crew of Nyaminyami II, we wish you art for art’s sake!
