The long awaited arrival of Nimue to De Courcy Island finally arrived. We had promised Tim & Alison (the previous owners), that one day we would bring Nimue to their ‘home' island. So after nearly 14 years of waiting, we crept slowly into Pirates cove, ensuring we cleared the reefs extending beyond the breakwater and giving a wide clearance to the submerged rock.
We had heard of gale warnings the following day and were concerned about swinging room in the tight anchorage, but Tim kindly managed to secure a space on the private dockage, which was superb.
Over the following two days we were entertained by Tim at their beautiful cottage at the north end of the island and we reciprocated by having Tim on board for one of Anne’s special curries. Conversations were naturally about Nimue and her voyage to this beautiful island and a very special time was had by all of us. Hopefully next time we return, we can entertain Alison, who happen in the UK.
