After a windy night we woke to discover that a monohull had dragged and collided into Trebuchet. Not much damage but not the best start to boating life. Luckily the man did come back to them with his details, including the fact that he was a lawyer! An early lesson in the constant nature of boat repairs. Undeterred, we decided to go ashore again and hunt for shark teeth fossils. The navy uses this inlet and so it is dredged regularly, with the spoils being deposited on one of the smaller islands, bringing the ancient teeth too. It was surprising how many we found – once we had our search image!

The weather forecast looked to be worsening so we decided to leave around 16.00 to arrive in St Augustine before it got too bad. The inlet there is notorious and in order to get there in daylight with an ingoing tide we had to sail overnight.
