We had to hire a car yesterday as they are not open today and spent the day provisioning – mostly rum, beer and cokes! Nick lost his glasses sometime over the last couple of days so we fished out an old pair with broken arms and spent the afternoon hunting around Florida City for somewhere to get new frames. Success at Walmart – lovely woman, fast service and only $99! And Walmart stocks a fairly reasonable cheddar which Nick likes, not the usual orange rubbery stuff with no flavour. Why is American cheese orange......................

Today we left for Miami with plenty of time and decided to go to IKEA for supper whilst we waited for their flight. It is very close to the airport and interesting to see that it is almost identical to the ones in the UK. The only discernable differences being bedding sizes and electrical plugs!

The flight arrived on time and they had a reasonably swift transit through immigration. Interestingly, Benj  took the longest as he had to travel on his US passport; several Americans have commented on  immigration being as bad for them as for foreigners.  They had a good flight, apparently the woman at check in took one look at them (6’1”, 6’2”,6’4”) and gave them bulk head seats! That has never happened with us despite Nick being even taller. I shall travel in the highest heels I possess next time and see if it works.

The drive back to the boat was only an hour so we got back around 22.00. A gentle wind, clear sky and the rest of the evening spent looking at the stars on the trampolines – with Cadbury’s chocolate. Fantastic.
