The winds have finally calmed, last week has been too windy to do much except wait it out. It has been cool too, dropping to 5C again but nothing compared to the temperatures further north. Another cold winter with a wind chill making the east coast feel -30C.

We hired a car, found the Miami Port customs house and officially changed the boat name, having finally received the new registration documents from the UK. Mixed feelings removing the old name – have the terrorists succeeded if they make us alter our behaviour - but I definitely won’t miss the comments made by passers-by…..

We also hit the shops and did some serious provisioning before leaving the large supermarkets of Miami.
