We arrived here at about 16.00 after a pleasant sail south, and temperatures that have risen steadily. We called the marina and asked to come in to the fuel dock to be greeted by Adrian, Rosie, Ella and Bert! I was speechless; Nick and Adrian having been in constant communication unknown to me for the last week since they arrived in Florida. They have spent their time in Miami and Orlando being serious Florida tourists and having a fantastic time.

We filled up with diesel and went for a short motor around the inlet – not far as trapped by the aforementioned 65ft bridges. Bert did get a chance to drive though – and the girls got fizz!!

We decided to stay the night at the marina overnight and had birthday presents for Adrian and me. I got fab Thing 1 and Thing 2 gifts from their trip to Dr Suess land. Continuing the theme, Adrian wrote in my card with the following poem:

I’ll see you next I know not when but tonight’s the night we’re 110!

(For those who do not know, we are both the same age until my birthday on the 20th).  Then we had a takeaway pizza and birthday cake and they all stayed for the night. Not quite the evening I was expecting, and so much better.
