Another catamaran couldn’t make their time slot to get hauled this morning and the tide up this river leaves little manoeuvrability. We said we could be ready in 5 mins so got their slot. Slightly nerve wracking for a while as they admitted they had not hauled a boat our size before and wondered it we would fit on their ‘cat crawler’.

We are not allowed on the boat whilst it is being moved and once on land it went for a pressure wash to get all the growth off the hulls. A strange thing to watch your boat ‘crawling’ around the boatyard – some anxiety in case it goes awry and some boredom as you wait for 90 mins before you can back on (and have the cup of tea you nearly had before having to move!)

This will be home for the boat for the next month – a bit of a challenge for Nick now as he has to negotiate a 10 ft ladder to get on and off. We are coming back to the UK from 11 – 28 Nov so should be better when we get back. At least the boat is where it should be now and the repairs can get done in our absence.
