Arrived here about 18.30 after a long sunny day with no wind – had to motor all the way. We have anchored just across the river from the marina we stayed at last time, opposite their ‘Megadock’. Unlike last time it is full of super-yachts now and we are near ‘Attessa IV’. A 332ft creation owned by self-made industrialist who reputedly bought it for $50 million and spent a further $200 million on its refurbishment. That included a 16ft extension to the decks both fore and aft – to accommodate the helicopter pads that service the stateroom at the stern and the forward guest accommodation! Before we judge, he and his wife also have a Foundation that supports education and health provision particularly - to date they have given $130 million to its causes. It is all a far cry from the snapping shrimp of last night!
