Well its windy - very windy! We have found ourselves a nice little spot tucked away from the worst of it - but we are still getting some big bullet gusts down through the valley. Its a pretty nice spot to be seeing out the worst of this weather. We are on Tahaa now, this is the neighbouring island to Raiatea - where we were in the last email. They occupy the same lagoon so its been nice to be able to move around on the inside of the reef to a nice sheltered spot in relatively calm conditions.

Its been so wonderful to hear news of little Neeva (my new niece) who was born on the 15th August (also my wonderful Mums birthday). Mum and baby doing well and the whole family seems to be coping wonderfully with the new addition. We can't wait to meet her. Also Happy Birthday to Steve and Eric for the 13th!

So we have been enjoying our few days here. When we arrived we were excited about having a nice walk around. Its been a while since we have been really able to stretch our legs. We walked into town with big dreams of baguettes filled with steak and chips (a local favourite here - they love to put pretty much anything into baguettes - even chou mein noodles - which is awesome by the way haha). We found the local shops which were just closing and settled for a luke warm baguette filled with cold chips and cheese burger (going very cheap) at the supermarket.

After re anchoring (as we had been gradually dragging our way out of the bay overnight.....) in the morning we headed over to the near by motu (island) and the 'coral river'. We had read in Mum and Dads blog that it was a great snorkel, that Dad even did 3 times as he enjoyed it so much. Unfortunately now it is really over grown with algae and there were many 'rhino's' (large sunburnt tourists wearing the new snorkel/full face mask combo where the snorkel pokes out the top of the middle of their head). We did find a few nice spots and enjoyed being back in the water again after all the crazy weather.

So we are now due to head down to a marina area in Raiatea to try and find some LPG and some water before heading off to Bora Bora. We are also hoping to hire a car :)
