We are headed north and our luck still holds. Nice southerly winds and even the current seems to have turned around for us. The trip from Laurieton to Coffs and then on to Yamba were both fast. So fast in fact that we came to Yamba far to early. It was still ebbing when we arrived to cross the sandbar at the Clarence river entrance. Such sandbars can be nasty, but i looked good. We decided not to linger out in the choppy seas. We headed for the breakwater. Then came the deluge. We saw the clouds of course, but decided it would be ok. It was ok in the same way a cold shower is in 35 knots of wind is ok. Suddenly we were not only soaking wet, but also partially blind. The breakwaters were hard to see. Hard, but fortunately not impossible. We got in, tied up, and the sun was shining again. After a few weeks of cruising alone we are suddenly in company of four boats that we know quite well: Christina, Nabob, Jade (by car) and Blue Marlin.
