Who should turn up in Falmouth yesterday but our friends Ingrid and Alex from "Seven". They left Faial on the same day as we left São Miguel, initially heading to Ireland together with some other boats, the broke away after a few days and headed for Brest. It seems that they got some rather poor routing advice from Herb, ended up sailing east one day and north west the next, culminating in a long and tortuous route which took them so far north that they chose to skip Brest and headed for Falmouth. We had a very pleasant evening with them and Anne Grethe and Fred from "Dream Catcher" at one of the town's better restaurants.

It has rained today - so indoor activities were the order of the day. We visited the maritime museum here in Falmouth where one of the exhibits is of an open sail boat which had been on a number of challenging voyages from the UK to Norway, Faeroes etc. We met the couple who had sailed her too - they were visiting the museum for the day. See the three upper pictures. The lower picture is of the new toilet being assembled - a great improvement.
