Galapagos to Marquesas.......First Night Drama!

Well we are 15 hours in and 120miles closer to our destination but the odd thing is that we have been close hauled..we have a southerly wind of 20 knots..now that is not what it said on the tin! It is fast but uncomfortable!!

Crew adjusting to life aboard (sleeping), and we have 50 new pirated movies to watch so all looking forward to a few weeks at sea.

We had what is now our customery early passage challenge/scare, 1 hour out and generator stopped as did wc flushing and freezer!!!!! WE had also had the deck wash fail on taking up the anchor..with incredible powers of deduction I investigated the main water inlet to find a plastic bag and a whole box fish jammed up the seacock..I couldnt even close it..... some time later after my head down the bilge with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers, I produced a huge water spout through the un-tapped hole and the remains of a very sorry looking fish..pipe on and back to normal...just a near sinking!!!.......another normal night at sea!!

Galapagos turned out to be a lot of fun, the wild-life was more evident in the anchorage especially when Tranquility...NOT arrived but the animals were amazing too. Atlanta actually played in the water with a sea lion and I dived with hammerheads and manta rays..great stuff..!!

Aston had a great birthday..yet another Nintendo DS, more Lego and as he is now a teenager a Leatherman for all of his work before the mast!!

Thanks for your messages to my last 'round robin' e mail..great to get through the night hours on watch!

Hope you are all having fun wherever you are, sadly there is one address less this time as one of my best friend's, Chris Honey, passed away last week...for those that didnt know him he was a larger than life character with a passion for fun and life, isn't it always the way!!....we will drink to 'absent friends' in his honour this and every Sunday ...for the rest of us yet another wake up call to just get on with it!!!

What adventure next???? Motorcycling around he world perhaps?!!

Take care and fair winds (some chance)
