Well, the day has finally arrived and we have at
last left the security of our marina berth and are currently heading towards the
needles fairway on route to Gibraltar. We have to be there for the 26th of
September - so it looks like it will be a non stopping trip.
Well, at least the weather looks kind to us, with a
high settling over the bay of biscay for the rest of the week. The means
that we should get westerlies this evening and tomorrow morning with the wnd
swinging back to the north by Wednesday afternoon.
We are only four on board - so it makes shorting
out the watch system relatively straight forward, and as this is not a race, we
can use the autopilot - everything helps!
Will try to update this as often as I can on
passage.
Next stop - sunshine!
