We departed from Suva Harbour on the 13th October and motored across  Malumi Bay on Beqa Island in the Beqa Lagoon – pronounced Mbengga???

Our position in Malumi Bay is 18:22.83S 178 09.19E

We had a really nice few days in at Malumi which involved some walks, kayaking in the mangroves and some pretty good snorkelling.

Like Kadavu it is very green and lush and Malumi is a very pretty anchorage.

We even managed a meal off the boat at the Lalati Resort which was great and met some people from Brighton, who sail out of SYC and are doing the Sydney to Hobart this year on their yacht Dark and Stormy so will be keeping an eye out for them

We are on the move again today and heading back into the big island of Vitu Levu and an anchorage in Vanaandu Bay.

The weather has been really pleasant for some time now and very much enjoying the calm conditions although there is another low pressure system to the west of Fiji at the moment so will be keeping a close on it to make sure we find a nice place to hang out if the weather goes a little awry.

We heard from people at the resort that the last low that we sat out in Lami Bay was pretty nasty enough so that boats were not able to travel across the Beqa Passage from Pacific Harbour to the island.
