After a great passage home we arrived at Burnett Heads at around 5pm on Sunday afternoon (13th October).  As it was too late for Customs Clearance we were required to anchor off for the night which was all fine as we had a couple of beverages on the back of the boat, a quick meal and were both in bed by around 8pm.  The next morning we had a pleasant surprise as we spotted the yachts Billabong and Nirvana’s Kitchen leaving the marina – we first met these guys in 2011 during our trip up the east coast.  Anyhow it was nice to catch up with them again even if it was just a brief chat as they were leaving to head south.

Monday morning and we head into the clearance wharf.  Joel from Quarantine arrived around 10am and give Sally a very thorough inspection in search of any nasty bugs but luckily she was all clean.  We got to see parts of the boat that we have never been to before which was quite an experience.  A bit later in the morning Trudy from Customs came aboard,  checked out paperwork, stamped the passports and officially we are now back in Australia.

Bundy is a good place for our first stop over as life here is pretty relaxed so we can slowly work out way back into things.  The first trip to the local IGA was a bit of an eye opener as there are so many choices in such a little shop.        There are a few jobs to do on the boat and the marine facilities here are excellent so will hang out here for a few days to get things sorted again before starting the trek south to Manly in Brisbane which is where we will be leaving Sally for the wet season.
