Minerva reef, day one crays

We caught our first crays last night along with a few slipper lobsters, pretty easy, just go out after dark with a decent torch and pick up anything with tiny shining eyes.

It's a stunning place, the sun is shining and inside the reef is like a pond, very calm indeed. At high tide the water flows half a metre deep and swiftly over the reef but it is so wide that all the swell disappears. Quite different to beveridge, mind you the weather is a lot warmer than when we were there.

Spear fishing on the agenda later. Looks like we might be here for a few days waiting for a weather window.
