Our position is 58:42.569N 17:11.890E

Distance covered around 37 Nm (More trouble with the log turning off!)

Before leaving Fyrruden we went to the fuel pontoon. Thankfully this time we were not in competition with Pilgrim as we had some difficulty getting the hose to reach and by the time we’d adjusted the boat’s position to overcome this the machine had got fed up of waiting and we had to go through the pre-approval of the card again.

But refuelling completed we set off in the sunshine but motoring into the wind again. The forecast had been for Westerlies, but no such luck. It was another day of rockhopping and in one channel we overtook another boat only to discover it was Gerd and Ina, who we had dinner with in Rendsberg last year, in one of their beautifully built wooden boats. They were heading for a marina in Oxelosund while our destination was a natural harbour further on, so after chatting for a bit we waved goodbye and motored on.

Waving goodbye again to Gerd and Ina

Gives a whole new meaning to “right to light”!

I was very taken with the construction of this beacon

The final part of our journey was across an open sound that leads from the open sea up to Norrkoping and it was unpleasantly rolly as the waves were coming at us from the side and it was quite windy, but we were soon anchored peacefully in the bay at Idklubben, with only a couple of kayakers and the birds for company.

The conditions don’t look nearly as bad as they felt at the time I took this!
