Since the last entry we have spent a lay day anchored in Cedeira repairing the steaming light cable, damaged by Atlantic Spars when they fitted our vertical stow pole, and a couple of days at A Coruna cleaning and tidying. Kay and Chris joined the boat yesterday after driving from Santander. The car was left at the new marina car park (underground and secure so, hopefully, it will be there in 2 weeks time with its full complement of wheels).

The ferry crossing from Portsmouth was delightful, although Chris thought the sleeping accommodation too much like a prison. The drive from Santander to A Coruna, which took about 6 hours, was memorable for the scenic mountains and the number of tunnels and viaducts.
An evening meal ashore was voted by Ted and John one of the best they had experienced since arriving in Spain - nice to know the ladies can organise things properly. Their time in A Coruna seemed to have been fully taken up with managing their laundry requirements - the Germans had been reserving the machines by putting their towels in leaving John had to do his in the middle of the night and Ted very early the following morning.

After a leisurely morning, involving a lengthy trip to the chandlers we set off across the ria to Ares - a trip of all of one and a half hours - and received a warm welcome from the peaceful marina. As we were unable to access WiFi in A Coruna it is to be hoped we will be more successful here and get some proper weather forecasts.
