The trade winds have returned in the right direction if not in strength and we are making marginally better progress but less comfortably as we are rolling in a following sea.  Today’s passing wildlife included turtles that are drifting towards Cape Verde on the Canaria Current and strange looking jellyfish with translucent inflated sail shaped bodies trimmed in magenta with blue tentacles that are cruising in the same direction. 

We are now some 200 NM from the African coast and 250 NM from our destination, Palmeira on Ilha do Sal.  Apart from one small freighter that passed us in the night all other traffic has dwindled away.

The Canaria Current is providing us with a 0,5 knot boost and we have logged 118 NM in the last 24 hours……..still lots of room for improvement!
