After a breezy day we made a slow and cautious trip across the shallow waters surrounding Key West.  It was dark by the time we reached the charted location of the fairway mark but nothing was to be seen.......in fact we didn’t see anything of the six following channel buoys as we made our way into the harbour.  It was midnight by the time we dropped anchor, had a shower and crawled into our bunk.

At first light we moved around to the ex US Navy seaplane anchorage at Garrison Bight and picked up a mooring then off to the US Custom and Border Patrol’s offices to clear in ....... then to a bar by the dock in the old town for a beer or two.
