Having hung out in beautiful Beaufort North Carolina waiting for the end of the higher risk hurricane season we are now heading south again.

Unfortunately the wind is never quite right on the day you want to leave but fortunately the Americans have an alternative – the Intra Coastal Waterway (ICW).  It runs all the way down the east coast from Norfolk Virginia to the tip of Florida and many other destinations so you can motor off the ocean in safety whatever the weather.

What’s the problem?  Well hundreds of other Snowbirds heading south have the same idea so this narrow, sometimes twisting, mainly incredibly boring waterway is full of like minded souls going as quick as they can to get to the sun......except for the moment it is rain, rain rain!

Enough of the moaning, tonight we are anchored behind Wrightsville Beach North Carolina enjoying a fine glass of wine and looking forward to another excellent dinner prepared by our beautiful chef!
